Size and Weight

As mentioned, they are tiny, weighing around 35-40 grams. Their size is comparable to a ping pong ball.

Appearance

They are covered in soft, downy feathers that are often yellow or brown. Their eyes are closed at first, but they open within a few days.

Behavior

Newly hatched chicks are very active and curious. They will explore their surroundings and start pecking at the ground almost immediately.

Diet

They are fed a special chick starter feed, which is high in protein and energy to support their rapid growth.

Environmental Needs

They require a warm, dry environment with a temperature around 35-36°C (95-97°F) in the first few days. As they grow older, the temperature can be gradually reduced.

They are very delicate and should be handled with care. It's important to avoid dropping them or squeezing them too tightly.
